I want to share a wonderful place for a “Quick Get-A-Way Happy Hour”.  Orange County Mining Company at 10000 Crawford Ave in Santa Ana is the best place for views and sunsets!  The restaurant sits up on a hill (as you can see from the last picture which, by the way, was taken after the sun went down) and they have an outdoor patio where you can dine, drink, relax and view a lot of Orange County.  You can’t really capture the entire beauty of the sunset in a picture but I had to try so I could share with it you.  They have good food and great service.  The girl in the picture (Pamela) brought us our “take-home” food that we left at another table.  They sure do take great care of you.  Thanks to our waiter Chuck and hostess Pamela for helping to make our evening a memorable one, as always.

Orange County Mining Company has “reduced priced” appetizers and drinks from 4 – 7 pm Monday – Friday, with a view that can’t be beat.  I bet you will agree when you go and experience it for yourself.  You can reach them by going to their site at www.orangecountyminingco.com or by phone at 714.997.7411.  One important tip when you do go and enjoy the sunset and all that The Orange County Mining Company has to offer, bring your night riding glasses.  It is dark when you leave.  Enjoy!

We got ready to leave and realized that everything outside was not only damp (including our seats), but it was cold!  This is when I remind you, even on warm nights, wear your Leathers (or at least bring them along, which we didn’t do) for the ride home.  Visit the Starting Gate and all the wonderful people there and HAVE A GREAT TIME!

We were riding up the coast one late morning when we saw this little hole-in-the-wall restaurant.  We decided to stop and have some lunch.  We had so much fun with the new friends we made there that we all ended up riding to another place to have dinner!  We got home that evening at 10:30.  Always be prepared so you can enjoy your ride to the fullest.  Remember to pack extra Motorcycle Gear in your Saddlebags because sometimes you never know what time you are going to make it home and you want to stay warm.  Good food, great company and an immeasurable amount of fun.  What a great day that was.  We still keep in touch with the friends we made that day.  Enjoy the Journey!

Sun Glasses are as important for the ride as any other motorcycle gear you may wear.  Your eyes are the window to the soul, take care of them.  A great pair of Sun Glasses not only keep any items that may be flying around in the air out of your eyes, they will make for a more comfortable ride.  They will also help you squint less so it may help with the wrinkles around the eyes.  If you have ever ran into a swarm of something while riding, believe me, you will be glad you have something covering your eyes.

We all want to have the most comfortable ride possible, so it is imperative that you wear all the gear you need to keep yourself save and secure.  A safe ride is the best kind of ride, right?  So make sure you don’t forget your Sun Glasses to keep the glare at bay.  Enjoy the ride.

Pictured here are some of our future bikers (Sananah, Irelyn and Mason).  Savanah, the oldest in this picture and the one sitting in front with her hand on the handlebars, loves to ride!  Her parents are not that excited about her excitement.  A real enjoyment for us is to take our grandchildren for rides and see how excited they get.  We are looking forward to getting them their own Kid’s Leathers when they are able to ride more than just around the block.

Then on to the Easter Egg Hunt!  We hid eggs everywhere, even on the motorcycle.  The motorcycle pictured had 10 eggs hidden on it and you couldn’t openly see but two.  This is not the customary accessories that you see on a motorcycle, I know, but it was fun anyway and Ashley had a good time looking for them.  Orange County Leather has a small, but growing line of Motorcycle Accessories that will look a lot better than Easter Eggs, we promise.  Enjoy browsing our site.
