When we had gotten our fill of the natural wonder, we threw on our motorcycle gear and made for historic Route 66. With my leather motorcycle vest and old school goggles I felt like I had traveled back in time- especially when we got to the original two lane sections of the highway. The nostalgia continued at the charming 1950s era Wigwam Motel in Holbrook, where we spent the night.

Specifically, I wanted to see General Sherman, a giant sequoia that is the largest known living single stem tree on Earth (by volume). When the day came for us to don our leather motorcycle jackets and ride to the park, I could not contain my excitement. General Sherman did not disappoint. I channeled Ansel Adams and took an astounding number of photographs that are now framed and hanging on our living room wall.

We camped out at Camp 4 which became known post-World War II as a rock climber hang-out. The first two days we spent bouldering, including scrambling on the Columbia Boulder. Later on my boyfriend climbed The Nose, one of the original climbing routes of El Capitan. I chose to hang back as my ankle was hurting, but I got some fantastic photos from the ground.

Start by putting on a pair of jeans that you would normally wear for riding, as leather motorcycle chaps are meant to be worn on top of jeans.  Despite jabs at being unfashionable, most helmet models are streamlined and aerodynamic. In addition, you can find a wealth of different helmets that feature cool decals. There’s always one to suit an individual’s style!

I mean, even if you are covered by insurance, that’s no solace to your body during a crash. In my opinion, one of the best insurance policies for any motorcyclist is a high-quality set of motorcycle gear. Not only do a leather motorcycle jacket and motorcycle vests as well as graphically enhanced helmet look amazing, they can prevent serious damage during a spill as well.

Normal biker gear isn’t designed for children, so it is important to make sure that you have equipment that fits your child properly. Kid’s motorcycle riding jackets are an essential, not only for warmth, but also in case of a spill as well. Before you put you kid on the back of the bike, make sure you’ve taken all the measures to ensure their safety.

Some of the reason to own a motorcycle is to feel free from the constraints of a traditional automobile and also feel independent.  But for those circumstances when you just have to have a conversation, a Bluetooth helmets motorcycle is an excellent option!

Although I am more than comfortable on my motorcycle, I was reluctant to let me oldest heir on. After some contemplation, my wife and I decided that it would be ok. Of course we took all of the necessary precautions, like by him a well-fit helmet and his own kids motor cycle riding gear.
